Sully School awarded Confucius Classroom status

We are delighted to announce that Sully Primary School has recently been awarded Confucius Classroom status.

Sully has been very active in promoting Mandarin and Chinese culture since it started working with us in 2014, so this is a great opportunity for pupils to learn even more!

Teacher Melissa Parry said: “We are so excited and proud to have been awarded Confucius Classroom status. We love learning all about life in China and look for opportunities throughout the year to experience Chinese culture and language. Since learning about Chinese culture and language our pupils are more open minded and curious about the world. It is so important that our learners appreciate other cultures and celebrate diversity. Becoming a Confucius Classroom will help us to continue our journey to becoming responsible global citizens.”

Sully Primary School opened its doors in 1912 to children from the village of Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan. Since that day, the school has expanded according to the needs of the community. Its new status makes it the 17th Confucius classroom in Wales, and the seventh to be managed by Cardiff.

Congratulations Sully Primary School!
