Cardiff Confucius Institute co-organised Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration with Welsh Government in the building of Temple of Peace on 16 October 2019.

Co-hosting with Welsh Government, Cardiff Confucius Institute prepared various traditional Chinese snacks such as moon cakes and pineapple shortcut cakes, along with Chinese tea, as well as fascinating performances, including Chinese singing, Chinese traditional instrument performing, Tai Chi and flute performing.

Dr Catherine Chabert, Executive Director of Cardiff Confucius Institute, gave an opening speech and Sir Dafydd Elis Thomas, Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism of Wales, was invited to deliver a welcome speech. Sir Elis Thomas has been very supportive of the work of Confucius Institutes and has helped establish the third Confucius Institute in Wales in Bangor University. Sir Elis Thomas confirmed the significant role of Cardiff Confucius Institute playing in the mutual communication and expected a better and closer collaboration between Wales and China.

Watching the performances, eating the snacks, chatting with friends of both new and old, all guests spent a wonderful night in the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration.
