Cardiff Confucius Institute holding CI Day Event in Penylan Library

26th September Cardiff Confucius Institute was holding the CI Day event in Pennylan Library. As this day is also European language day, CCI was invited to join the event with people from different language background promoting the languages and providing various performances. The event lasted from 10:00am to 15:00pm and nearly 200 residents took part in the activities.

The International Language Day was organized by Cardiff Central Library to encourage international communication. Different languages such as Mandarin, Welsh, English, French, Spanish etc. were introduced to people and numerous culture activities were held by various groups and organizations.

Among them, Confucius Institute brought the local citizens a feast on knowing Mandarin and experiencing Chinese cultures such as Calligraphy, Chinese Painting, Tai Chi, Tea Ceremony, Paper-cutting and Lantern-making.

Towards the end of the event, a local band whose members came from various countries sang songs to encourage people and embrace the international communication. Lin Lifang, the Academic Director of Cardiff Confucius Institute was invited to join them to perform the famous Chinese traditional song Jasmine Flower in Mandarin.

The event lasted for five hours. Both the library staff and citizens around said they enjoyed the event very much.
